Loretta Pyles, PhD, is Professor at the School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany and Director of the PhD Program. She is also a meditation and yoga teacher, workshop leader, organizational consultant, and activist. Her work focuses on disasters, community organizing, and body-mind-spirit social practice. She is the author of Healing Justice: Holistic Self-Care for Change Makers; Progressive Community Organizing: Transformative Practice in a Globalizing World; and co-author of Production of Disaster and Recovery in Post-Earthquake Haiti: Disaster Industrial Complex.
